The Blandair Review

Issues available:

Mission Statement

The goal of The Blandair Review is to foster a deeper understanding of and participation in preserving the natural environment from overdevelopment and the pollution and diminishment of species and their habitat that results from overdevelopment. Our goal is also to offer a forum for the preservation of historical landmarks.

The Blandair Farm and Foundation, located in Columbia, Maryland, is currently involved in a lawsuit against Howard County, Maryland for the very fact of preserving its historic mansion and environmentally valuable lands from development. We at the Blandair Foundation wish to honor the intentions of the late Elizabeth Smith, whose family owned the farm for sixty years, that the land be a nature preserve and a center for the study of both environmental and historical preservation.

The Blandair Review will articulate views on pressing environmental and historical preservation concerns. We encourage considered submissions on these issues and ask that these submissions be limited to 1,500 words and be documented in a scholarly manner.

Submissions should be addressed to: mgrimes@howardcc.edu

Sincerely,

Mark Grimes. Editor
